General functionality and connectivity

The PNI HS527 flood detector is a device designed to detect the presence of water in vulnerable areas of a home or technical space.

The device works with two 3 V AAA batteries and is equipped with sensors that can detect both drip and larger water leaks.  

Configuration and integration into the smart system

To communicate and transmit alerts to a smartphone or tablet, the detector connects to a Wi-Fi network on the 2.4 GHz frequency. After installing the Tuya Smart mobile app, the user can receive notifications when water is detected, even if they are not at home.

Installation and practical use

The detector is designed to be mounted close to flood risk areas, such as basements, near washing machines, sinks or near water pipes.

During operation, if water is detected, in addition to the audible alarm, the system will also notify the paired devices through the interface of the Tuya Smart app.
