The PNI TRK501 camera is a complete rearview surveillance system for trucks, consisting of a wireless video camera and an LCD monitor. In addition to the classic rearview camera function, the device also has a recording capability (DVR function), which allows the captured images to be stored. The system is designed to operate wirelessly, i.e., without direct video cables between the camera and the monitor, which simplifies installation on large vehicles such as trucks.

Technical specifications and performance aspects

The TRK501 camera offers decent video resolution to ensure a clear image during maneuvers. The DVR function allows recording on a memory card (microSD type). The system is optimized for the road environment, with weather protection (IP66 protection rating, so the camera can operate outdoors on a truck). The LCD monitor also includes configuration menus (contrast, brightness, etc.) and displays the image transmitted by the camera in near real time, with a minimal acceptable delay.

Installation and connection on the truck

The camera can be installed using the bracket included on the tailgate or rear body. The viewing angle is adjustable. The video connection is wireless, but the camera and monitor must be powered by a 12 V or 24 V source.

After installation, the user can start the system and switch automatically or manually to camera mode when reverse gear is engaged. The DVR function requires the insertion and formatting of a microSD card of up to 128GB.
